Prepared by Your Past, In Your Present, For Your Future!
Dondre Williams is a Godly man, with a heart and passion for serving others, and making a real difference. Dondre possessed a genuine Spirit that welcomed everyone into his presence. He was always fully-engaged and genuinely interested in others, and readily available to help where he saw a need. To Dondre, everyone was regarded as "family". In the Spirit of 'everyone is family', the Dondre Williams Family-Invitation Scholarship was birthed, as a way to pass on the legacy of Dondre Williams to future generations of West Virginia State University Family members. Dondre was a key contributor to the WVSU Men’s Basketball program from 2001-2003. He finished up his career 7th All-Time in school history for FG%. His work ethic, passion, energy and love for his teammates and the game of basketball will forever be remembered. Each recipient of the Dondre Williams Family-Invitation Scholarship will be blessed with becoming an honorary member of Dondre Williams' family. Each will be welcomed into a fellowship of Family members who care about - and will nurture - the educational, spiritual, professional, social, and cultural growth and development of each individual. In our Family, each member will be 'prepared by your past, in your present, for your future.' As a member of the Family, each recipient will be challenged to not only receive the Dondre Williams Family-Invitation Scholarship, and become a member of Dondre's family; but, to also be instrumental in helping the Family welcome, care about and nurture each new member who is invited into Dondre Williams' Family.
